It feels desperate. Like, there's a brick wall rapidly approaching and they need to offload this bag on the next batch of suckered FAST.

I kind of wonder if some of them were just always bad at their job? The ones gleefully saying in public they suck and aren't needed anymore.

It's almost like relief to them, they can finally stop pretending to not be mediocre and just embrace it.
