But, we have to reach the public. I have some thoughts on how we might possibly leverage some existing but underutilized resources...not sure if it's possible though.

I'm thinking as academics we need to be more involved in educating the public (for free) as we would our students in how to evaluate information, think more critically about it, assess potential for misinformation, understand claims and the evidence (and warrants) to back them up.
