Maybe we can just go back to the days of floppy diskettes. That will solve all the problems.
There's definitely room in the market for a multimedia-focused system and software. IDK what the design geniuses have in mind, but I do hear strange noises coming from their labs once in a while. I just hope it's not another pizza making robot. A person can only eat so much pizza in one day.
Also, if you contact us via www.commodore.net/contact-us, we can have an extended conversation. I would hate to lose the thread here.
I did have a chat with our engineering genius about this, and he said that there is no sort of connection sensing on the CVBS outputs. They're always active. He did say that there's a slight impedance difference that may be weaking the signal just enough to cause issues.
Is this NTSC or PAL?
Have you put in a support ticket via www.commodore.net/contact-us with the specifics of your switching and capture hardware? I'm wondering if the problem might be going the other way - the signal being just attenuated enough that your monitor is not getting the color burst and not turning on color.
It's actually how I run one of my systems at home. I hook my monitor up through a Retrotink via S-Video and directly to a Camlink 4K for video capture.
I don't see a note about this on our bug board, but I do remember having a conversation about it. I'll make sure this gets listed.
I never cease to be amazed at the creativity of our fans. Keep up the good work!
Proud to have played a part in inspiring the Starlight Edition of the new Commodore 64 Ultimate 😍
@commodoreofficial.bsky.social just published a spotlight on my #C64 setup, favourite tracks, and connection between my music and this iconic machine.

4.5/5 stars from @techradar.com! Jennifer Allen called the Commodore 64 Ultimate “a triumph” and “a labor of love.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. Read the full review here: www.techradar.com/gaming/commo...

Did you know that the C-64 Ultimate offers OPTICAL OUT for Audio? With that, you can solve many signalling problems you may remember from the original C64. Brilliant ...

Summer of laziness? That’ll cost you 326 apples, pal.
The Bear Essentials developer Graham Axten talks apples, “the Bear dance,” and his controversial take on which game he’d like to see on the #C64U. Read our “fruitful” conversation here:

Soft or sharp? Artists designed for that blur, and the #C64U lets you choose between those authentic CRT scanline glows and crisp, modern pixels. Thanks, @levimaaia.com for showing one of our favorite features. What do you prefer?

12 Down. 10 letters.
We'll give you a hint: it rhymes with 64s.
(Thanks @nytgames.bsky.social , we're blushing... 😊)
Great question, let me pass this by our team for a good answer. Hold please!!
COME WITH US IF YOU WANT TO LIVE!!! Travel through time, defeat the T-1000, and save John Connor. Fun fact: developer Kevin Bulmer pushed the C64’s memory limits to create a bulkier, more true-to-life Arnold. But did you ever save John Connor and humanity's future?
LOVE THIS!
Be careful of those rigged paintings!
