If the work is referenced I see no issue, if the work is using the same layout, fonts even texture color then it starts feeling a little weird. I know I wouldn't be able to create the shit I do if it weren't for all the people in this scene doing what they do. Create a style that you love.

Because some like that character has been in the game since neon prime and others are created after they have the stylized look they have not finalized.
