If Wes Moore believed in the power of government half as much as Donald Trump does, Maryland would be in good shape.
To the good, people are starting to “let go” of WaPo. This was all inevitable when it was sold in 2013. Long past time to face reality.

Every once in a while, Democrats will campaign on the left and win.
And most often, instead of governing as they campaigned, they say “It’s not the right time” to do the right thing.
The stakes are too high. We have to make this a primary issue.
Cultural reactionaries often say that, "If X person had gotten the belt as a child, they wouldn't act that way."
They were talking about Trump. And they made a royalty cult around him.

Liberals, generally, understand rhetoric and reason effectively.
But liberals, generally, are notoriously bad at “messaging” on politics.
Why?
Because liberals train each other to over-optimize for defensibility in contexts where defensibility is irrelevant.
That’s a fatal cultural flaw.
While you are standing there, calling something “unacceptable” with your mouth, and doing nothing else about it, the rest of the world observes you accepting it.
In the 80s, “Rock Against Communism” was Nazi skinheads with a PR team.
Recently, for Ottawa’s “Victims of Communism” memorial, the plan to name these “victims” was scrapped because so many were fascists.
“Anti-communism” is always the enemy, and communism really isn’t.
If Marx’s take on socialism is truly “scientific,” then it must be just as open to refutation as Newtonian physics has been.
A number of Newton’s ideas have been demonstrated false, and nobody should have fought those demonstrations in the name of Newtonian orthodoxy.
