I noticed how often Gilmore Girls came up in my social media feed. It's comfort TV, which makes it a good show for the moment we're in. I also discovered a great podcast – Generation Gilmore Girls by @ctpublic.bsky.social. We talk about it on CBC Radio's Day 6 this week.. www.cbc.ca/listen/live-...

Poderosa: LGBTQ coffee entrepreneur Evelyn Ruiz leads by centering community
The Puerto Rican coffee business owner from Hartford runs Hasta Luego Friend out of a vintage trailer and founded a queer collective at bars around town.
I went into this interview with Hasta Luego Friend owner Evy Ruiz thinking that business (and its addictive coquito lattes) would be the focus for @ctpublic.bsky.social’s Poderosas series on Latina leaders. Instead, I heard just as much about Tia’s Roommate, by and for queer women of color.

Imagine that you don't get paid for 2-6 months after you do the work.
Then imagine that the person paying decides to pay you 25% less (or even less).
But don't worry, you can spend months fighting for the rest. And maybe lose.

How CT's housing landscape changed over 20 years
Over the last two decades, Connecticut's streamlined its homeless response system and found ways to prevent families from becoming homeless. But, there's more work to be done.
“Changing that narrative within communities & saying this is something that we, most of us, believe in, instead of something that we're scared of or is dictated from the outside, I think, is a critical piece" - HC CEO David Rich in @ctpublic.bsky.social www.ctpublic.org/news/2026-02...
