Sorry! I had no idea it was a thing and if I paid better attention might have noticed things were impacted before it got that bad.
Kind of amazes me that after that I don't think I ever had any issues with glands with him or any cats.

Oh noooooooo. So gross. Poor buddy & you.
Long ago, probably 2001 or 2002 or so, my late great cat Marlowe suddenly stank to high heaven & I hadn't a clue what was up & took him to the vet & IIRC he had one gland rupture or something bad that required a bit of minor surgery, poor buddy.

Ok if you want to make this fucking dot go away you have to enter this menu and then physically click Go Live even if you donβt currently intend to and never fucking intend to Go Live
"Fortunate Son" mentioned on here and that now always makes me think of this excellent fanvid (and excellent cover of the song by Aloe Blacc). #FanvidRec

Adjusting our bios to indicate which sporting event or other thing we're watching and commenting on but nah, that's too much work. (Would be neat if there was a way other than tagging every post or making threads. Like a status message.)
Just got off an extremely cathartic Zoom interview with political scientist Geneva Cole, whoβs doing research about how Twin Cities people have responded to the occupation. It was really, really good to talk with her. Iβm spreading the word! Take the survey here: www.genevacole.com/participate-...
βI really think of Lake Street as kind of like the heartbeat of the city,β filmmaker Yasmin Yassin says. βDepending on where you go, it has different significance, based on the landmarks that are there.β
Itβs day 95 of the ICE occupation of MN.
This weekend, Minneapolis is waiting to see if Jacob Frey will sign the Pause Evictions, Save Lives policy passed by the City Council.
The mutual aid fundraising has been enormous, but the needs continue, even as donations have slowed.
Call the mayor!
Just remembered Reinerβs cameo in his brotherβs time travel comedy, THE SPIRIT OF β76, and had to grab this clip for future use.
I mean, sometimes you just want to share updates. (or so I tell myself when I do this sort of thing.)
1990s college Laurel, a very white young woman with a blonde asymmetrical bob that was growing out rather shaggy. I'm wearing a flowy sleeveless shirt that looks like a dress because of how I'm sitting but it really was about hip length or a little longer and black with a rich floral pattern that reminded me of impressionist oil paintings. You can't see it, but I'm wearing black bloomers under it. With dark purple tights (which matched some flowers on the shirt) and black suede boots that had black laces and a funky silver buckle thing going on. I'm wearing multiple silver rings with a variety of stones in them. A black watch. Hematite necklace. The photo is blurry so you can't tell my wire frame glasses are octagonal shaped. I thought I was hideously unattractive & very few photos exist of me back then. (Sigh.)
I loved the era where I wore a lot of sleeveless flowy shirts that were black but with floral or fruit patterns over black bloomers with colorful tights (plain or I had some amazing tights in a fruit pattern). With the best black boots I ever had. Ton of silver rings. Sometimes a cool hat.
I was reminded recently that I used to wear two watches (and there was a time I tried to fit an old man watch on my ankle but that didn't really work). Also wore a black bowler hat a lot.
People at Augustana in Sioux Falls thought I was a witch because I wore so much black. π€·ββοΈ
Okay, this is truly amazing for so many reasons.
OMG Stearns County! I confounded people in small town rural Minnesota and later in Sioux Falls with my fashion choices.
This one was tame and geeky , but nearly got me in trouble at my tiny rural Lutheran high school until I geeked out even more at them.
Bree! That coat! (and the whole look, I'd missed this before)
hey buddies
and the longer he goes thinking no one is going to stop him, the more people will be dead before someone finally does. try the fucking war powers act again NOW, guys! do it again every week! grind everything else to a halt! like as always a handful of GOP senators could instantly stop this
Of course. It would be fun to time travel to concerts and stuff, that's what i've always said.
(in the latest fic I'm writing, Sam & Bucky have rants about time travel and alternate timelines for some reason which were fun to write.)
Juan is tying a damsel in distress to some train tracks later tonight
I did not care for this. (they say he's fine.)
Oneil Cruzβs 450-foot moonshot is the farthest-hit ball in the last two World Baseball Classics. The previous longest distance was a 448-foot homer by Shohei Ohtani vs. Australia in 2023.
The 116.8 mph EV makes it the third-hardest-hit ball in the WBC in that time.
Plakata.
Excellent!
Happy birthday!
