I’m sick of “what’s in it for us?” when we talk about providing aid overseas. Our foreign policy should have two primary goals:
1) Maintaining stability and security
2) Uplifting the material conditions of human beings in need of support
Why? Because it’s the right thing to do.
I went to Palestine to see the realities of apartheid and settler violence up close. In Hebron, the cruelty is clear as day.
Here are some of the shocking realities I experienced:
