All films have been restored by MoMA from materials in its unparalleled collection of films and artwork by New York–based independent animation filmmakers
The artist himself will present a new digital restoration premieres of classic hand-drawn American animation, from Winsor McCay’s beloved Gertie the Dinosaur (1914) and other cartoons.

Members should check their inboxes for an exclusive discount code. All submitted works will be judged by up-to-date ASIFA-East members during our Jury Screenings in the Spring. Rules and Terms must be followed, or filmmakers will risk disqualification.
Here are the submission deadlines:
Earlybird Deadline: Jan 01, 2025
Regular Deadline: Feb 01, 2025
Late Deadline: Feb 22 2025
Additionally, to highlight local talent, we are only accepting student films from the Northeast region of the USA, specifically the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Pennsylvania.
Like last year, the categories are Independent, Experimental, Commissioned, Music Video, and Student film. All films must have been produced within the United States of America after July 1, 2024, to be eligible for entry.
