NiGHTS got a non-dream language voice in Journey of Dreams which was a bit after Riders, but used in All Stars Racing Transformed (also the source of NiGHTS becoming the vehicle in horrifying ways for that game)

I'm glad I've been specifically seeing people reference actual robot Sonic saying "I'll crush you" instead of SMBZ just using Cooler voice lines because it feels like every year or so people find out that the guy who made SMBZ is racist and then forget again and continue to gas it up

Like, you look at Megani with her glasses and go "oh that's just some klutzy secretary" and the second it cuts to her without glasses you IMMEDIATELY understand how she can also be so damn cool
It does the Superman thing of "oh, he slouches and acts more timid so no one catches on" but like. Actually intentional and not "it's like the 1930s so we didn't think of that yet".
The swirly glasses hiding her eyes and becoming her expression for gags does a lot
Might be genuinely one of the best disguise designs I've ever seen, in that it changes her shape language so much but it genuinely works as a disguise and not in the "this looks like a different character design entirely no one could have guessed this" way

Like in Rush and Rush Adventure, Blaze gets flustered around Sonic pretty often and then in 06 she exists to give Silver a pep talk when he wonders if it's a good idea to kill Sonic and then also actually finish Silver's job. She doesn't say a single line to anyone else. Not even Mephiles.
And then in Sonic 06 only Silver acknowledges she exists because 06 was clearly just jamming her in there last minute to let her survive the plan of 06 rebooting the series to just the characters in that game and didn't use her well so I guess they have chemistry
For me it's extra weird cause like. Both Sonic Rush games ending on unresolved romantic tension from two characters who don't know how to communicate those types of feelings and being like "well, guess it's goodbye..." which feels like the only time Sega has ever leaned into something like that
I do wonder if Neo Metal being planned to be used in the war but being unable to be finished in time is actually just a meta joke about Forces being rushed and that being a boss concept that was left on the cutting room floor.
Like, Sonic Forces isn't the way it is because they were like "yeah, that's good enough, no one will notice" it's "we need to get this out the fucking door"
There's at least 3 off the top of my head. Wouldn't be shocked at all if there's completely unused Chaos and Shadow boss themes somewhere at Sega. Also Infinite's final fight is a copy of the Metal Sonic boss and the final phase of the final boss is just the Sonic Colours final boss bar for bar.
