Bigger picture is the world’s most important bilateral trade relationships and bilateral energy relationships are U.S.-Canada and U.S.-Mexico. Energy trade isn’t just oil—it’s gas & power too. A big deal already but retaliation or an extended disruption would make it even bigger.
Midwest & Rockies get their crude imports from Canada and don’t have easy other options for crude. Likely to see the biggest impacts on prices at the pump.

Haha yes — point is just that ghg impact is better if there’s less leaking, venting, flaring, and limiting those is more expensive when gas prices are lower because local production is outstripping local takeaway capacity
Crucially, this also helps maximize long-term value of resource and reduces flaring. (Natural gas has big GHG benefits if it can be transported to places that would otherwise burn coal, but not if too much is stranded & flared.) cardozolawreview.com/state-energy...
