The phrase "professional activist" is functionally meaningless. It's a term that politicians and corporate targets have used for generations to discredit anyone who's effectively challenged them. Anyone who deploys it in earnest to discredit deeply committed people is broadcasting their ignorance.

Something that every critic across every known medium should internalize.

I know this is something I circle back to a lot, but it honestly feels, to me, like half the attacks on our trans siblings roots back to "children aren't people." The doctor said "boy," so I get to be the parent of a boy child! Not a girl child! How dare my child want things I don't want?!

Once again a reminder: We can have trans rights, bodily autonomy, gender nonconformity, and freedom of expression, or we can have none of these things.

I live in Alberta. This time last year we were drowned out by separitist chuds. Now we rejected Provincial meddling in our civic elections, used our provinces own laws that they made to reject the issue of separation, and 24+ MLAs are in the process of having *their* recall legislation used on them.

imho one of the most effective ways to gain a genuine respect for someone’s craft is by trying to do it yourself.

There are people who say “I would sell my soul to write a book that good” who aren’t willing to write the four or five shitty books that stand between them and the good one.

Meanwhile, in Manitoba…

At least one premier has a grasp of just how serious using the notwithstanding clause is…

And is taking steps to ensure that at least one province doesn’t use it before hearing from the courts.

Canadians don’t actually have rights when premiers can use the notwithstanding clause at will to revoke them. This is a giant problem.
