Struggling to match many bands on the new Doublet. Ladder line length too short I'm thinking. Can anyone model this?

Hi Andy, I'm using liquid electrical tape. Great stuff
Rattled up a QRO choke for the Doublet. 2 x FT240-43 with 10 turns of RG400. Wont be running much more than 500w so plenty headroom with this.
So I need to build myself a 4:1 balun. It's for a Doublet I will be putting up soon, I would like it rated for at least 2kw 80m thru 10m. Anyone have any pictures of their builds for some inspiration?
Your very close. With holding the original probes I got 5.98uh. Seems way too high for what we are looking for.
Cheap and cheerful, Andy. I, however, need different probes for my LCR45 to measure inductance properly.
So I finally got to try my figure of 8 RG213 loop with the WGL. Using 2 cheap 92cm hula hoops as supports. I can't directly compare to the single square loop but I'm sure it will be better. I had fun last night in the PA contest using it for RX and a vertical for TX on 40 & 80m
Nice to get Brian ZL3XDJ in the log again this morning. Just in the nick of time before the band swiched off. Also nice to see the RBN spotting me down under. Only 100w and an off centre fed dipole my end and Brian with 100w and a raised 1/4 wave vertical his end.
Another night familiarising myself with the QMX+, it does not sound like a cheap radio at all. On the contrary, it is a joy to listen to CW. The wee power bank is doing a brilliant job too. I will easily get a good few hours operating with it.
Really impressed with the QMX+. 3.4w out on 20m and I get a ping across the pond on an audibly dead band. The Anker Nano PB with 12v trigger cable works a treat with no obvious noise.
I'm trying to move with the times and keep it simple. I could go down the road of a 3S battery pack or use a buck converter/diodes to maintain 12v to my QMX+
Hey Andy, the Anker PB gets a great name on the QRPlabs Groups.io . The Charmast has been a solid performer for travelling over the last year for phone and laptop. Onwards to compile QMX+ accessories.
So turns out both cables are fine with new Anker Nano PB. It's the Charmast PB at fault. The cable that didn't work with the Charmast was then Pihut one.
Whats a decent brand David? Keep in mind one of these has a proven track record in QRPlabs groups.io
I was reading up and think this is what has happened here. I want a smaller PD power bank so will test with that too before concluding if the cable is solely at fault.
Strange one! 20ah Charmast PD Power Bank with 2 x 12v trigger cables. One is WITRN from Pihut and the other is a GINTOOYUN from Amazon. One works and the other reads 5V. Which source one would you trust more?
Awesome ๐๐. Thought I was at least a couple of weeks out before shipping.
Looking good ๐
Reminds me of the film Kingsman.
Dont be silly, my arse isnt lined with gold ๐. Just an RSPdx
Start of something new. Too good of a deal to pass up for us UK customers.
I wouldn't bother. George noted he runs TX antennas in close proximity at 1KW regularly. Depends on why you want to sheild tho.
#WellGood up for 3 days in 55mph winds and rain. My waterprofing done the trick.
Roast Duck in a bread roll with Rocket and a Marmalade dressing.
Quack quack. This was my favourite market food find at Magdeburg market. Enjoy, markets in the UK as so fake compared to the real thing.
Left the #wellgood on WSPR RX all night and this was the DX spots it received on 80m. Thanks to Roland @hb9vqq.bsky.social for the amazing anaylyics ability.
Almost Andy.
Its the WellGood
Yes, but it only cost me ยฃ15 ๐
There it is. All held together with bungee straps to test. I will make things more permanent soon, although this will a quick deploy/takedown system.
I really dont like soldering 2.1 x 5.5 connectors. Its peanuts to buy these moulded pigtails and just add more wire if needed.
