And ironically Thames Water are in the town hall tonight for a pre-planned scrutiny on what they do in Islington. I suspect there will be quite a few questions tonight about how on earth they have managed to flood the borough again.

A real pleasure to meet George Clarke and hear about his experiences growing up on a council estate. We both know the positive impact social housing can have on familiesβ lives.
Thatβs why Iβm determined to continue delivering more council homes as we build a fairer London for everyone.

A cap on ground rent is very welcome. London has the highest number (1.4m) and proportion (38%) of leasehold homes.
Ministers have faced down concerted lobbying by powerful freeholder interest groups to deliver this key reform, rejecting their increasingly hyperbolic arguments.

Utterly awful that Lib Dem councillors in London have asked for a review of The Freedom Pass.
Islington Labour support the Freedom Pass and Iβm pleased to have just published a proposed budget for 26/27 which includes Β£12.5m so older Islington residents can travel for free in London.

C.G.I. showing the York Way junction in question, with crossings and cycle lanes visible
Please check out the proposals for a "Cyclops" junction on York Way, north of King's Cross.
This would completely separate pedestrians and people cycling from motor traffic, improving safety.
Joint project with Islington!

I know many people, particularly from London's diverse communities, are feeling extremely worried following the events this weekend.
It takes me back to how I felt growing up in the β70s and β80s, when
far-right political parties marched on our streets.
The leaders of the far-right are once again attempting to hijack our flag, with minorities being intimidated and fear, hatred and division being sown.
As Londoners, and as proud Brits, we must unite to reject the far-right
β just as we have many times before.
But itβs going to take a huge effort from us all β from people of all races and backgrounds, who are willing to stand up for our British values of equality, inclusion and mutual respect.
As Mayor, I'll continue to do everything I can to challenge the far-right and all those who peddle the politics of fear and division.
I urge other politicians and Londoners to do the same.
MAYOR OF LONDON, SADIQ KHAN
We must unite against those who seek to divide us.
