I think map is default, but specific verbal description overrides map. Just a time sequence thing.

I hope players who don't feel like engaging (or can't, for various reasons including FUCKING LIFE) get a kick out of enjoying what other people make. It's why I keep the reward real small - I'd hate to disadvantage anyone, you know?

In this group, it's a race to whether I get a short story or a fully-illustrated comic first.

I love all you talented nerds.

We've got a diary. We've got battlefield flashbacks. We've got two character portraits. We've got bog witch beats to hex the undead to.

We've got it all.

I bribe my players with little treats (XP, a little boost to any resource they can spend in game - Luck, Willpower, etc.) if they write fiction, draw pictures, make playlists, or otherwise engage with the game between sessions.

I can't recommend it enough. This is delicious tribute.
