Correction: the tweet references our other work on P. robustus not the A. africanus work that appeared on SAJS
I am proud of the work we did here!!!!
Even prouder of the advocacy we did to have the first A. africanus palaeoproteomic data published in a South African journal, and the abstract was also in Setswana, which meant my mom could read it as well!
Female researchers: interested in a postdoc at @univienna in #sedaDNA, #metagenomics or #ancientDNA? Apply via the E-STEEM fellowship through my group. Projects are flexible and can be shaped together!

What #palaeoproteomics topics would you like to learn or teach? Provide input for the planning of the PAASTA winter school in the form below!
Help shape the PAASTA WINTER SCHOOL course program!
This will be an online school; I hope people new to palaeoproteomics will attend, especially people from the global majority.
Let's democratise and improve accessibility to palaeoproteomics.

@giuliagallo.bsky.social will be presenting "Interpreting staining and burning in archaeological bone colors: equifinality, challenges, and new solutions."
As always, DM us for the Zoom link to join!
Very useful for anyone wanting to calculate deamidation for shotgun proteomics, who doesn't like playing with python!
The Python script reported in Mackie et al. 2018 (Angew Chem Int 57:736β7374) for calculating N and Q deamidation rates from proteomic results has now been ported to the R environment.

So, from my understanding ESHE keynotes were originally supposed to be public, and that means they could accommodate for the local community (ππΎ), and I believe this is what happening.
I just wish there was something planned for those of us who donβt understand French.
