Sharpless 132 (Lion Nebula)
This is the Lion Nebula (Sharpless 132) in the Cepheus constellation. It's one of my favorite targets, as there is so much going on here in terms of details and distinct emissions. Almost 30 hours of data went into this image.
Good to be back in the Bay Area for a few days!
For sure! With previous printers, I spent as much time fixing and tuning as I did printing. In comparison, these printers just work. You may still get the occasional "spaghetti print" and clogged nozzle, but that's just part of the learning experience and not constant issue.
Thanks David! You can find a lot of technical information about the image on Astrobin: www.astrobin.com/3a8dv2/ In a nutshell, you take many short exposures (up to 10 minutes each) with different filters to isolate common emissions, then you "stack" and recombine channels to get the final image.
Can't go wrong with that choice. It's as close as you can get to an actual plug-and-play experience.
One of my favorite Framework 16 features is its charger. Instead of a single-use brick with a proprietary connector, it's a highly versatile lightweight USB-C charger with 180W PD. It charges other devices like the Anker PowerCore in no time.
A wide field shot of the south-western Cygnus region with some popular #astrophotography targets (Crescent Nebula, Sh2-104, WR 134, Tulip Nebula, Sh2-99). For reference, the field of view is about 8 times the diameter of the moon.
For sure... 😂
Nice! I am pretty useless without platesolving. I generally use the N.I.N.A. framing assistant to quickly find out where I am pointing. This makes manual corrections so much easier.
Part of the "convert your disposable income into tubes with glass" collection.
Faint supernova remnant LBN 576 (Abell 85). I captured this back in July in an effort to work on more challenging #astrophotography targets. Overall, more than 18 hours of exposure time went into this image.
