Paul Sheldon's rather slim manuscript for his new novel in Misery.
How many pages are there in his new novel? 20?

Re-watching Misery for the first time since its original release.
Booked to see Hard Boiled on 35mm at the Prince Charles next week.

This week's Hammer Time podcast has prompted me to dig this out.

Rewind TV are showing Blood for Dracula tomorrow night and Flesh for Frankenstein on Sunday. Udo Kier is fabulous in both.

That was great fun, I love when a movie wears its references on its sleeve. And the choice of final music confirms it had its tongue squarely in cheek (as if the Young Frankenstein joke didn't already). Jessie Buckley is incapable of a bad performance. She's just an atom bomb of an actress.
Off to see The Bride! with @chicalolita.bsky.social tonight.
@michaelspicer.bsky.social has a brilliant take on this type of programme:

So Philip Glass just joined TikTok. He only has like 4 posts and theyβre simply him in what I assume is his living room playing the piano. First comment on one I saw was βyour piano is too close to the fireplace, youβll dry it outβ and if thatβs not the internet in a nutshell I donβt know what is.
The impression I'm picking up from the rather polarised reviews of The Bride is "a fascinating mess" and I often feel well disposed towards films like that.
Happy birthday to Betty Boo. Here's a reminder of the time she rapped with Public Enemy in the McDonalds at Shepherd's Bush back in 1987 (look out for the unimpressed manager!)
βplease do not rely on the US government for assisted departure or evacuation at this time. there are currently no United States evacuation points.β β the recorded message you hear when you call the Office of Overseas Citizens Services hotline.
I'm not making this up. if you're an American stranded in the Middle East and you call the State Department help line, you get a recorded message pretty much telling you to go fuck yourself. thank you for your attention to my extremely angry post about it. link is here: bit.ly/409JSAA
Keep it up, neck rash - you can do it!
This bit in the From Russia With Love game made me laugh out loud. You've got a fairly grounded, low key fight based on the one in the movie, then the most video game looking fucker of all time slides into frame.

Designed in my little studio in Manchester, now on national newsstands. Not bad, eh?

My local cinema has the best playlist in the bar/foyer area - every so often 'When I'm With You' by Sparks pops up.
Bessent is like the sanctimonious pastor in a horror movie who it turns out is experimenting on children in his basement.
Off to see some Big Screen Elvis a bit later.

Several people asked for a new picture of Molly, aka the Thing of Evil. Here she is.
Molly, aka the Thing of Evil, with her slave. That would be me. π€£
Spanish PM SΓ‘nchez responds to Trump:
"Spain is against this disaster... Govts are here to improve people's lives... It is absolutely unacceptable that those leaders who are unable to fulfill that mission use the smoke of war to hide their failure, and in the process, fill the pockets of a few."
A minor league hockey team had a wiener dog race. Zero thoughts, just vibes and absolute chaos. A thing of beauty
Off to see Cartouche in Ciné Lumière's Claudia Cardinale season later.

I hadn't written anything new in over a year but shaking off the rust to write a short piece for an upcoming release.
"We called London a war zone and moved to Dubai by mistake"
Few people read my 2nd novel A Touch of Love, perhaps put off by the Mills & Boony title. Written 40 years ago, the backdrop is a British PM (Thatcher) allowing a US president (Reagan) to use UK bases for airstrikes launched to effect regime change in a Middle East country (Libya). We're on a loop.
John Carpenter's In the Mouth of Madness - Sam Neill arrives at a cinema showing Sutter Cane's In the Mouth of Madness.
