TEMPTING

So my record label gave me a UPC number but no barcode. For the life of me I can’t figure out how to generate a barcode from an existing upc. Seems like everywhere online just generates a totally new/unique barcode with a new upc. Help!

FWIW, Scottish fiddling has helped a TON, and my rhythm has grown a lot from meticulous vocal tracking sessions. Looking for additional ways to push myself.

Rhythm musicians: I’ve decided my 2026 resolution will be to really get solid with my rhythm. As a vocalist and string player, I’ve gotten by with “good enough” for too long. Where do you suggest I start? Rhythm exercises? Drum lessons? Whatchu got?

I was hurting so deeply when I wrote this entry. Now I’m snuggling with my baby boy in my house while on parental leave from my dream job. How is this even the same life? What will life look like in 10 years’ time? I cannot begin to imagine, but I will let myself dream because dreams can come true

June 2015. Same sex marriage had been legal for a month; I’ve since come out, found my person, married her, and adopted a child together. I hadn’t yet started my PhD at Princeton. I hadn’t yet left my comfortable community in Ann Arbor for the unknown. I’d only just gotten my first “big” commission

Been thinking a lot about my next ten years plan, and I think it’ll be along the lines of living in the present more than in the future. Enjoying the little moments, and enjoying this happily ever after we’ve made for ourselves.

Found the entry earlier this year—just a month before we found out we were becoming parents. It’s wild to think how different my life was just 10 years ago. None of this felt attainable back then, yet all but one of these became reality.

There. I said it. The only people I’ve EVER heard hate on this song are classical musicians.
