You will not believe the messages he just sent me. Our dear brother has really lost the plot. You know it is all her fault. Jeff and I had put the kids down to sleep and settled in for an episode of that show you recommended. Suddenly, my phone almost vibrates off the coffee table.
Nature had reclaimed everything from this city I once knew. Vines as green as what you might find in the amazon smother every surface. They suffocate the weathered remains of skyscrapers, creating miniature ecosystems in the remnants of hotel lobbies, department stores, and fast-food restaurants.
This man seated in the twenty-ninth row reveled in the journey, not the destination. Not for a love of old cliches, but for stories inspired by unfamiliar vistas. He sits with a blinking digital marker. It flashes and flashes, ready to create tales untold.
The little space made me feel nothing. You would think an enclosed cube with one small porthole would induce claustrophobia. Especially given the white lighting making me squint when glancing upwards. The vibe was interrogation chic. However, they did not know about my hidden advantage.
