If you’ve never seen it because the franchise seems overwhelming you’re fine just watching the original. It’s a masterpiece all its own.

It takes sleazy 80’s New York, mixes it with the beautiful backdrop of Scotland, and puts it out in a neon soaked spark flying fever dream. I LOVE IT! My favorite roles for pretty much everyone in here.

This original movie is what started it all, and honestly did it the best. One of the best villains in film history, one of the best soundtracks in film history, and just down right one of the coolest looking movies in film history.

Happy 40th Anniversary to Highlander! The original film was released on March 7, 1986, and kicked off several sequels, TV shows, and has a new remake coming soon. For me I discovered the world through the television series I was obsessed with as a kid (and still am).
