I would consider at least Jasper an Elite HA kid so that checks that box for me. He just hasn’t matched that 10-20 recruit ranking with performance yet. I’m not sure Pope’s system is ever going to be attractive to a lock lotto 1 year high school kid.

I respectfully disagree with your wishlist. We hired Pope as a system guy who thrived with 3-4 year players. I think every year you shoot for 1-2 elite high school guys but no more because you want guys who will stick around 3-4 years. Use portal to fill holes due to other transfers or HS misses

Of course - but I think based on what I has seen the likelihood of either of those things happening in 202-26 was slim.

Now - if Pope can keep this roster together and only lose OO, JQ, DA (and maybe Lowe) but replace with a solid PG and add two outside threats next season could get spicy.

I’m not Travis but jury is still out. If we’re letting the last guy go due to March performance, then that’s how we need to judge Pope. My 5 year criteria is 1 Sweet 16, 1 Elite 8, 1 Final Four. He has four more years to accomplish 2&3.

This goal is to not have elections in 2026. They know compliance isn’t possible. It’s a feature, not a big.

It’s Laurence’s Seafood now. The idea for Binky’s was interesting (cheaper drinks for island residents, no kids) but we all have kids, won’t pay for babysitters just to hit a bar so would just take our kids to the Jammer or Dingy instead.
