Proud of these Literacy Warriors who spent their weekend collaborating on solving the illiteracy crisis in PA! Mandatory screening and teacher training is one of many things that need to happen to help our 3rd grade students reach proficiency by third grade!

I'm a big fan of making sure the kids can read! With only 1 in 3 fourth graders reading on grade level in our Commonwealth, engagement is certainly impacted!

I haven't been able to find a way to meet the needs of all of my Ss using traditional instructional strategies. It is only through the use of technology that I can provide personalized learning for my Ss & give them what they need, when they need it, for as long as they need it.

Another follow up... Would this be appropriate for a coding obsessed 11year old? I have a little guy that wants to learn all the things!

ALL OF THIS!!! We can do our part by being "yes....and" colleagues instead of "but...no" colleagues!

The Office!

Spending the morning curriculum mapping using chat gpt. Inserted my state standards, asked it to make measurable goals for each standard with an assessment for each measurable goal. This has taken my department YEARS to develop... almost done and it's only taken two cups of coffee.

Received a beautiful email this morning from a female student who has used the summer to find her voice through writing. She thanked me for helping her develop confidence in her writing. What are some ways you are helping students tap into the power of literacy?

I have a ten year old obsessed with learning to code. I would bet it's the freedom of knowing there is no wrong that gives him the confidence to go all in on his passion to create.

In my HS ELA class the essential question is what is trauma & how does it impact the stories we tell. Ss went through the dtp identifying the problems with trauma & came up with incredible solutions that could be implemented in our school. I loved it so much because it was so relevant to the Ss.

Love this! Demonstration of mastery should be the goal.
