bought books too difficult for me to read so I'd actually have a challenge here, spoke to my Japanese friends more carefully... Eventually, it worked. Ofc consistency is key but the plateau was a mix of too often too safe in my comfort zone, and too much reviewing vs accepting new challenges.

When I hit that plateau a while ago, while in Japan mind you, I realized it was a mix of being burned out and not actually being exposed to *new* things. I stopped actively seeking immersion for a couple weeks (outside work hours ofc) then gradually came back to lessons and adding words via anki -

Anyway I gave up my good resolution and will finally start Persona 3 -my first Persona game- later tonight
