Maple, an anthropomorphic squirrel, looks slightly gloomily off to the side. "So...the year's already off to a shaky start.* Could use some help" *I set out to work on a few things about myself in this new year. Unfortunately, timing being as it is, I had a vacation planned right in the middle of January. The trip I took to Northern Arizona was lovely! I got to take it easy in a couple aspects and hang out with a few friends in the process. Unfortunately, it made it very difficult to really pay attention to the work-lreated things that I was trying to get myself disciplined on. Additionally, I planned for the whole thing rather poorly, mostly because I wasn't even sure the trip would be happening as late as a few weeks beforehand. Then there's the matter of supplemental income. The last couple years, my career as a freelance artist has been largely supplemented by work that I've done driving for a food delivery app. Last year, though, a downtown pickup fiasco resulted in me getting a nasty fine from parking ticket, and since then I've been less and less enthusiastic about the whole thing. In addition, I've been having issues with the app and prioritization for getting orders-- today, I had set aside about 6 hours for working, but because of a glitch on the app I lost that reservation, could only work 1 hour and only got 1 small paying order *in* that hour. Barely made back the price of gas. I'm looking for other options on how to fill the still wide gaps in my art income, but as long as they're there I'm gonna have to rely on both sticking with delivery work a bit longer and occasionally pushing for some help.

With a weary expression and a wry smile, Maple puts up an attempt at a cheery advertising face and announces... "For one thing, Comms are open! (they've *been* open, but y'know) And hey, V-Day is just around the corner. Might be a good time to get something cute~ (gonna be updating my prices, so everything's custom-quoted while that's happening)

A meter runs along the top of this frame from out of picture, stopping at a mark labeled '$438'. The ticks on the empty portion of the meter go up to $600. Maple gestures toward it and continues. "Another thing. Here's what I currently my every month from my Cozy Clientele* support. (before fees, etc.)" (Pointing toward the $600 mark) "I'd really like to get here by the end of 2026." *"Cozy Clientele" is my umbrella term for monthly support pledges I get on Patreon and Ko-Fi. They're identical in terms of tiers and support, it's just that some people have their preferences and I wanna be accommodating to that.
