A dummy's guide to Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs).

There is really not that much to unpack in PINNs. Their popularity is a travesty of computational science and engineering.
Watch out for a short video series with tutorials and paper reviews.

Grammarly got bad since they added AI. Its understanding of the context has gotten worse and often it keeps circling back to the original sentences after a few suggestions.

They went from "data-driven" to "data-free" in a couple of years,
says data-free, but needs the desired solution at a finite number of points...
uses FEM as a replacement for automatic differentiation ๐Ÿคฃ

they are circling back ๐Ÿ˜‚

It's not about instant gratification. It's about keeping people engaged, especially at the start of the course.

A bad way to start a course on #HPC is to throw a bunch of slides with hardware & specifications at the audience and kill their enthusiasm for using the HPC.

Start with hands-on activities like accessing HPC and running some simple programs first. Then, show the hardware later.

There is a recent special issue on the history of CAD in Engineering. Check this if you find something interesting.

I have not seen any great course on this.
But check these out. They seem to be okay.

It is probably better to refer to textbooks on the subject.

They simply want fast-paced reviews so they can publish more papers in a year.

Unfortunately, it's not but this trend was set by MDPI.
It's from Elsevier and is considered as one of the best journals in the field.
Quite a few Elsevier journals I know have 2-3 weeks of deadlines now.

It was a major revision. I rejected the original version. The EiC made the decision without my review for the revised version, in about 2 weeks.

Just yesterday an EiC emailed me saying that they no longer need my review, I accepted it on the 4th of December.

I am reluctant to accept the requests with 2 or 3 weeks for reviews.
Editors should have a serious talk with the publishers on the review times.

However, I would recommend you start with partitioned schemes.
For fluids and rigid solids, partitioned schemes are sufficient

For other FSI problems with shells, immersed methods could be better.

Different methods work better for different problems.

Check field split technique available in Petsc for solving such block matrix systems.

You still need to do some experiments to find out the best combination.
