Proudly presenting the (for now) final version of "Why experiments work." To share the materials in a slightly more professional manner, I added a "Resources" page to my website: juliarohrer.com/resources/.
That was long overdue anyway; now there's also a curated list of my papers and blog posts.

What you don't know, CAN hurt you!
AKA how incomplete data can ruin otherwise great research.
One of the biggest, most common problems in research is missing or incomplete data -- EVEN in RCTs!
Learning to spot problematic incomplete data is a critical skill for anyone wanting to read or do research.
What is incomplete data? What red flags should you look for? And what about green flags? π

Graphic abstract. Picture of a person's ear with a vagus nerve stimulator clipped to the tragus. chart shows that the heart rate change is lower in people who had the treatment.
Transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation (tVNS) of the tragus in the ear improved autonomic function, reduced inflammation and helped treat #POTS in a small, RCT study buff.ly/4dOchBR
