Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads! But we do need cupboards, bookcases and display cabinets. Because we collects, we does, my preciouses. Shells and stones, twigs and bones, 17th century shiny things and .. running shoes! π¬π§ππͺπΊ He/ Him

By moving right on immigration & other key issues, and generally coming off as incompetent (esp on cost of living), UK Labour is losing vote share to left-wing parties AND to right-leaning ones. This is what happens when a party appeases its opponents & loses its core identity.
βEvery gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed...This is not a way of life...it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron.β

Cheers Ewa!! Made me smile.

Finally gave in and did one of the sprint sessions my watch keeps suggesting and, to be honest, it wasn't that bad! π #running #bskyrunners
literally this.
Migration is part of what makes this country great.
We're not an island of strangers - we're an island of neighbours.
The Green Party will always support fair & managed migration.
I'm sorry, but of your leaders' reason for going to war is to trigger the end of the world, that's surely both grounds for refusing orders and for removing them from office, no?

[We see a close up of a young white male, tanned, white teeth, coiffed hair clearly an influencer on social media. It is an image such as you see when social media posts are shown on the news. In the corner of the screen is named a location: DUBAI. He is staring slightly off-camera for several silent panels of the comic strip. His eyes move slightly. He is having a thought.] From off-screen a newsreaderβs commentary comes: NEWSREADER: Extraordinary images here of an expat in Dubai [The influencerβs eybrows raise slightly] β¦Having their first ever geopolitical thought. [CUT TO a BBC news scene. The BBC newsreader CLIVE MYRIE is talking to an interviewee next to the screen showing the social media influencerβs face. The intervieweeβs name is David Jones]. CLIVE MYRIE: To explain the significance of this moment weβre joined by David Jones, our Expat Thoughts correspondent DAVID JONES: Clive, this is momentous It was caught on film at the end of an Instagram post titled: βDubai Is Brilliantβ. [Pointing at the screen, the influencerβs expression still the same] You can clearly see in the eyebrows here, the dawning realisation that there *might* be something in the world beyond his dickhead self. It marks a *huge* departure from all the Dubai Expatβs previous thoughts. CLIVE MYRIE: Which areβ¦? DAVID JONES: You've Got To Get Yourself Out Here Mate, Everything Is So Clean, I Don't Have To Pay Taxes, I Am Incurious As To Why I Do Not Have To Pay Taxes, and Spa. CLIVE MYRIE: And might we see an expansion of these new Thoughts in coming days? DAVID JONES: I think we can expect to see: βI Deserve To Be Airlifted By A Country I Pay No Tax Toβ CLIVE MYRIE: Mmm. The far-right can throw the kitchen sink at elections (big racist sinks, obvs) but only the @greenparty.org.uk - who made it clear they cared about the outcome for everyone - thought to send a plumber to fix it.
Its apt, cos what you'll get from reform is a pile of racist sinks, and no plumbers.
I'm over the god shit this administration is pushing. They are literally the least godly people around.
The problem wasn't really the negative campaign.
The problem is that it was a smear campaign based on lies.
And still Labour aren't offering any solutions to the highest drug deaths in Europe.
Let's have *that* conversation.

Summary of Richard's run with an average pace below 6 minutes per kilometre.
Quite pleased with today's run. It's been a long time since I've run a sub-30 minute 5k. Feels like progress. #running #bskyrunners
And this morning the Shed is a safe haven for anybody requiring oneβ¦
Abysmal, immoral, cruel, small hearted, tiny minded, ineffective, undemocratic, and just generally utterly indecent. What a bitter godforesaken disappointment these people are.

This is an, err, interesting take on parliamentary democracy from the leader of a major party.

Keir Starmer is going to end up with his trademark u-turn here β where it becomes obvious to those paying attention it was entirely forced by backbenchers. So he gets no credit for the u-turn by people who wanted it, and attacked for dropping the policy by others.
Its genuinely mad that we are, arguably, the most successful multicultural state on earth and instead of celebrating that we...
...keep trying to copy nations who have very evidently done worse at it than us
QueerAF newsletter text that reads: Another study has found new evidence that Trans+ athletes have little competitive advantage, concluding there is no evidence βto justify blanket bansβ. A comprehensive study of over 5,000 Trans+ athletes, has found that trans women likely do not have athletic advantages over cisgender women after undergoing hormone therapy. Published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine.
Researchers found that there was no evidence "to justify blanket bans" and called for policies to "remain dynamic, guided by evolving evidence and ethical imperatives"

It does feel like Starmer and Mahmoud have seen Labour rejected by its own *actual* core vote (instead of its imagined one) in its heartland and decided that the answer is just to reject those core voters right back.
Suicidal politics.
After Trump's "Operation Midnight Hammer" (no, really), he said Iran's nuclear enrichment capabilities had been "completely and totally obliterated" and therefore Iran's nuclear programme had been set back "by decades."
That was 248 days ago.
Only Labour can unite the country ..
..in despising what Labour has become since abandoning all pretence of being a 'progressive' party that once fought for a better, fairer Britain.
It feels like we've finally reached the "The killings will continue until everyone loves me" stage ...
