Iβm so excited to introduce AD&U, our new social media series highlighting the stories behind accessory dwelling units across Massachusetts.
Grateful for everyone who joined us for our session at the NCVC National Training Institute! Deep thanks to Amanda Munger and Alejandra St. Guillen for sharing your stories and Brenna Chase for sharing about the power of our partnerships. Your voices are a powerful reminder of why this work matters.
Amy Poehler is rightly getting props for her handling of Aubrey Plaza's first interview since her husband's suicide. Fair praise. Also a reminder that many survivors don't get star treatment, no matter their trauma. Here's to Poehler and journalists who let survivors tell their story on their terms.
Incredibly proud of the videos we released today from Survivors Say. Thanks to our survivor families for participating and to Kathy Curran & her team for the great work. Hope everyone can take a look and help us spread the word. @survivors-say.bsky.social
Proud to call Kate a friend. She's a force of nature, a powerful advocate and an incredible storyteller. Check out her book, buy two and help her do more of this vital work.
We are deeply grateful to the Massachusetts Legislature for believing in and supporting our mission. Your support in this year's budget helps us continue to serve and support survivors if and when they need us.
Thanks to all who spent an unforgettable evening with us. And special shouts to Lt. Gov. Kim Driscoll, Rep. Tricia Farley-Bouvier & MOVA's Liam Lowney for bringing your voices to our work. (Credit images 2 & 3: Margot Murphy/Govβs Office) @kimdriscollma.bsky.social @reptricia.bsky.social
We are thrilled to announce our inaugural Board of Directors, made up of communications, nonprofit and victim advocacy experts. Thanks to their volunteer efforts and time, we are helping ensure survivors of high-profile trauma have a greater say in if, when and how their stories are told.
There's little courage greater than speaking truth to power, particularly on an international stage when reliving your own trauma. We're grateful to be standing with Jessica in New York this week and for her trust in Survivors Say to help tell her story. @survivors-say.bsky.social

Sharing Survivors Say's mission and impact with fellow advocates is a powerful reminder of why this work matters. Thank you to Massachusetts Department of Public Health and everyone who attended our presentation at the 24th annual Massachusetts Suicide Prevention Conference.

Weβre a week out from our virtual event! As we count down, weβre excited to give sneak peeks into the new survivors' media guides. First up: Considerations Before Engaging with the Media
This guide was designed to help survivors assess whether to engage with the media in the aftermath of a tragedy.
In honor of National Crime Victimsβ Rights Week, we're hosting a virtual event to launch our new series of guides to help survivors determine how to safely engage with the media. Please save the date and join us for this launch on April 11th at 1 PM EST!

Today, we were honored to share the heartfelt statements on behalf of the families of Kaoutar Naqqad, Imane Mallah and Wafae El Arar, who died in Belize two weeks ago. The families hope the statements and photos "honor Kaoutar, Imane and Wafae by telling the world about the girls we knew and loved."
First JFK Library briefly closed after several staffers were laid off. Now the Carter Library had to cancel author events for books about climate change, homelessness and the civil rights movement.
But the Reagan, Nixon and both Bush libraries seem to be just fine. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/22/a...
Threat alert elevates for Boston.
Hi, I'm a climate journalist for the Boston Globe.
If you're a federal employee working in New England for EPA or the Forest Service (or you were, until last week..) I'd love to hear from you.

Ominous post alert.
Another way this feels similar to COVID β the disaster is already unfolding but the people in charge seem to think itβll only impact βblueβ areas.
Timely op-ed from lobbyist Daniel Delaney β same is true for comms teams focused on policy communications. The bench we normally hire from newsrooms or govt is similarly not extensive. We have to work harder to create it. commonwealthbeacon.org/opinion/the-...

Today, shortly before noon, @hguarino.bsky.social and I became monthly donors to three national organizations we know will spend today and the next 1,461 days fighting for our values. βDarkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that.β ~ MLK.
