New publication from our lab! It was really fun writing this review @jcb.org with my postdoc Dr. Chris Mellor and graduate student Elisabeth Larson. We explore how folate deficiency trigger DNA damage that disrupt genome stability.
Cornell NCAA 2025 D1 Champions! 13-10 Win over Maryland. What a game! @cornelluniversity.bsky.social @ncaa.bsky.social
Many congratulations to Saeideh Azad, our talented Cornell undergraduate student who is graduating today @cornelluniversity.bsky.social. Saeideh has done a tremendous job working in our lab! We wish her all the best in her future endeavours!
Many congratulations Stephanie! Looking forward to the discoveries from the Xie lab!
Ok #AACR25, Iโm truly impressed. A live sign-language interpreter translating Inigoโs @imartincorena.bsky.social plenary talk on somatic tissue mutational landscape. I want to learn the sign for โclonalโ.
Exciting talk #AACR2025 @theaacr.bsky.social from my colleague and friend Dr. Karuna Ganesh! insights into why colon cancer is rising in young. A cool DNA damage mechanism! @karunamdphd.bsky.social @mskcancercenter.bsky.social
Many congratulations to our newest PhD student Emma Kosmeder @cornelluniversity.bsky.social for achieving an Honorable Mention in this yearโs #NationalScienceFoundation GRFP! Considering only 1000 GRFP awarded this yr versus >2000 awards in past yrs, I am so proud to be mentoring Emma in her PhD.
Absolute delight and privilege to host Dr. Anna Beaudin @beaudinlab.bsky.social from @utah.edu. Very exciting work on fetal folate๐ฅmetabolism rewiring ๐ฉธblood stem cells. Thank you for visiting Cornell and passing your wisdom to our trainees and assistant profs!
Thrilled to share our latest work. Great collab with Costanzo, Masson, Freire and Reyes' labs. Congrats to Marรญa Josรฉ and coauthors

During this chaotic time, I take satisfaction doing little things that improve the lab. Today I rigged an argon gas blower for our chemical hood. #labrat
NIH indirects case update:
Hearing ongoing now, and I'll try to live tweet some notable exchanges.
Prior to more detailed arguments, Judge Kelley starts off with a few point questions to both sides:
(I'm paraphrasing here)
Many congratulations Will! Beautiful work!
Itโs day 1 of the cut to NIH indirects and universities are scrambling to adapt. Iโm going to post a series of videos on all the things I take for granted, but are both vital to research and covered by indirects for research grants.
1. Today the NIH director issued a new directive slashing overhead rates to 15%.
I want to provide some context on what that means and why it matters.

๐จRED ALERT for ๐งช:
The Trump NIH just gashed indirect costs. This is a direct attack on universities.
โPursuant to this Supplemental Guidance, there will be a standard rate of 15% across all NIH grants for indirect costs.โ ๐ฎ

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Wang Lab! Iโm so thankful to my lab, discussing and doing science with you guys is the best part of the job!
Many congratulations Ana and team!
The first paper from our lab is online! A wonderful collaboration with @scottbscience.bsky.social lab. We discover that Pol II is extensively regulated by Ubiquitin at the beginning of the transcription cycle!
