A sensible perspective on tonight would be we might have snatched a draw & we’ve probably used up a fair bit of luck over the last three seasons at Stamford Bridge. And if we’re being honest they’ve finally improved into a half decent team.
Or you can moan about it.
So this away v home thing. I think everyone we’ve lost to is in the top 9 of the table plus Man Utd & Tottenham. Everyone we’ve beaten are bottom 11 of the table. It just happens those games have been a home and away split. It’s pretty much what you’d expect for a team in our league position.
Luckily games at the new place are not as susceptible to high winds as Griffin Park was, not to say there won’t be some impact. Watching at GP it never failed to surprise & amuse me just how bad many professional footballers/coaches are to taking into account & adjusting to windy conditions.
You know like when teams have a good away record, they try and make their home game preparation similar to their away match one (stay in a hotel the night before, get the coach together to the game etc), how do you do that the other way around?
It’s been a pattern in some games, saw it at Fulham & Tottenham as well. Damsgaard is excellent up the pitch but if they get beyond him we’re suddenly down to a two man central midfield, often v three. It’s brave but you can get punished.
Ha, I forgot Ajer….. I don’t think we’ll be looking at CBs in the transfer window.
Remember we’ve got a couple of other centre-backs around; Mee & Sepp VdB. Plus a couple of young ‘uns. I don’t think we’ll be panicking.
Good day for some of the players that have been written off by a selection of our fan base; Schade magnificent hat-trick and assist. Collins sublime and forward thinking. Damsgaard a visionary, he just sees it all in front of him.

Brilliant Bees today. Loved the irony of us needing to go down to 10 men to keep a clean sheet. Flecken was great, the save in the first half from the flick was brilliant. & Thiago seems like he’s going to be a lot of fun.
