Aromanticism mentioned! O' to be 20 years old, physically attracted to someone, but not feel a drop of romance. Tough and awkward times, but good on her for exploring aro and feeling it out.

There where earlier panels in the comic that were like "that's aro but she's still cooking."

Edwin, an anthropomorphic jackrabbit, is wearing a business casual outfit and has a grumpy expression on his face. He gives job searching tips by speaking directly to the reader using a dialogue bubble. Edwin says,
"The further along in the hiring process the more likely they will communicate a rejection. If you make it to final interview you are sure to hear of the outcome. In contrast, do not expect to hear back if your resume is rejected. Do not take this personally! Note the date you submitted the app, cross it off after some time, and move on with your search."

The basic steps to rejection:
1) Submit your resume
2) Wait
3a) Rejected
3b) Never hear back. Call the recruiter and go to 3a OR step 4
4) Remove the app from tracking
5) Put it aside and apply for another job

"'Ideally, when would you want this position filled?' is the last question to ask the recruiter. You will learn how quickly they need to fill the position. Anything less than 1.5 months is urgent. They will soon stop collecting resumes, and you are in the final pool. Anything more than 1.5 months will be slow-moving and competitive."

These "quick and done" postings are why it is important to check consistently and frequently. Once or twice a week per job board should be sufficient.

"Do not overshare during an interview. Remember, you have full control over how you respond. Map out answers to common and industry-related interview questions to prevent rambling. Interviewers are overly sensitive to negativity. Talking about "bad" things during an interview may be seen as off topic or cause you to become associate with the "bad" thing. Think about the phrasing of work/life situations.

Scan the job posting for key terms or phrases and include them at the top of your resume. Recruiters prefer looking for single words, so highlight things like programming languages.

This is just as relevant for AI as it will be looking key words.

Essentially, you create a resume that is easy for the computer system to scan. It can save a tremendous amount of time and effort if you are applying to many jobs.

Edwin was created on 01.29 four years ago. The time flies by!

Big happenings for this year were Work Fur Hire being nominated for two awards, working on the visual novel, and connecting with many of you via social/con panels.

Thanks for another great year.

"Avoid applying to jobs through job posting boards (e.g., Indeed, Monster). The hiring org may contract a 3rd party to manage these postings and they can do a poor job of sending applicants to the hiring org. Apply directly through the hiring org’s website or contact person. At least then you know they received your application."

Recruiting firms aren't perfect with sending forward applications. I once got a call back two months after submitting an application telling me that the recruiting firm never sent forward applications. Apply directly, cut out the middle person.
