I saw it pop up last night and was immediately disappointed. Surprised it was removed - assume there was meaningful backlash and they backed down?

Oh wow, what a shame. Thanks for spreading awareness here as I probably would have missed this.
This looks awesome! Really hope I can try this one down the road.
Congrats on the engagement Marceline! ππ³οΈβππ₯³
The blatant discrimination against trans people happening right now is galling. So many people insisted it was about kids or sports - but it was obviously a bullshit excuse and here we are.
The bigotry seems nonstop and it needs to end.
Finally watched Hundreds of Beavers. Wow that slapped. Great rec @danthurot.bsky.social!
What did you think of Ouroboros Trick? I got a chance to try it recently and really liked what it was doing.
For a project I am being allowed to put chocolate in my peanut butter and I am already having waaaaaaaaaay too much fun with it.
May have just pulled a Marceline... π
Think what we have to go through to finally be ourselves, from being ostracized in coming out to endless paperwork to get documents that align with who they are, just to get a letter like this saying you're a felon for using an ID that correctly identifies you.
You'd be furious too.
the murder robot is sooo good
I did watch Death of Stalin, which I believe was your rec. I guess I should try the other 3 π
Great Choice was a cruel pick though!
I was told to watch it as blind as possible, but I still haven't bothered to watch it. π
Wild to me they are tossing so much hate for a game they have never played and know so little about.
Clearly someone is passionate enough about the game to make it a reality! Plus a 3rd party is praising it as well.
I totally understand. We need to protect precious & handsome things in this world. π
Final?!
When in reality that's complete nonsense. Mechanisms can help us tell many stories, and something like roll & move has a place in the modern lexicon of gaming.
Molly House uses it to great effect, and on the other end of the scale something like Magical Athlete embraces its goofyness.
When you played Monopoly or Life as a child and hated the randomness, something like Catan is going to feel like a revelation.
Both use dice, but all those bad games use dice in an "icky" way. So you might decide that's a way we should never use dice again - it's tainted.
Like Connor mentioned, I don't think there are bad game mechanisms - it's all about how they are used.
I do think many modern gamers have generational angst towards the old school mass market games out there, and unfortunately mechanisms like roll & move are the easiest to call out and shame.
alright alright alright, even more excited to give this one a shot then.
This is one I really want to give a go sometime. It just looks so novel!

A bit blown away by the glowing response to Walkable City's announcement yesterday. Appreciate the incredibly kind words from everyone π Thank you all so much!

Technically it can be played multi-handed solo. There is no hidden information or limited communication in the game.
I'm not sure it's the ideal way to play but there is nothing stopping you (or anyone) from experiencing it that way.
I hope you love it Eric! Thanks for sharing π
Thanks Randy! Yeah, it's gone through a few overhauls to clean things up and make for the best play experience.
Gosh, thanks for the kind words Peter! ππ
I think the most cutting remark I heard during playtesting was me explaining the theme and one playtester says "Oh, so it's a science fiction game then?"
I intentionally made the game's premise grounded so people can understand these are changes we can make *right now* if we have enough willpower.
I started designing Walkable City in 2023, so not last year π I wish I had kinda turnaround!
Thanks J! As someone living in a very car dependent place, it's definitely a topic I feel strongly about. π
