It is terrible and they only ever talk about it with regards to Democrats. The Republican will be like "let's murder children" and they'll be like "A BOLD STANCE" and then a Democrat takes a mainstream concept like "abolish ICE" and they're like "sorry, you can't be electable with that!"

"U.S. military investigators believe it is likely that U.S. forces were responsible for an apparent strike on an Iranian girls' school."
"The strike would rank among the worst cases of civilian casualties in decades of U.S. conflicts in the βMiddle East."

Today should be your 38th birthday.. When you lose your son you lose more than a child you lose a piece of your heart and your joy. Life is forever altered, and nothing can ever fill that space. Yet in my soul, he remains, my precious boy, forever loved. His laughter, his smile, and his love are woven into who I am. My love for him will never fade. Yor are my pride and my joy - you've made a change that cannot be broken..

Wow. The government just apparently crippled the tool that people are using to track contracts like these DHS ones.
I'm told this is the tool Schiff's office is using to track the ICE contracts for military-style weaponry I reported on in the piece/thread below.

A screenshot of a mobile Google search results page in dark mode for the query "Kansas trans". Under the heading "News about Kansas," there is a list of four news articles: βAn article from the Kansas City Star, published 13 hours ago, with the headline "Kansas informs trans residents their driverβs licenses become invalid on Thursday". The thumbnail shows a sample Kansas driver's license. βAn article from The Independent, published 7 hours ago, with the headline "Kansas sends letters to trans drivers demanding the immediate surrender of their licenses over birthright law". The thumbnail shows small pride flags on desks inside a legislative chamber. βAn article from The Topeka Capital-Journal, published 7 hours ago, with the headline "Kansas invalidates IDs and birth certificates of transgender people". The thumbnail features a close-up of colorful pride flag stickers. βAn article from Erin In The Morning, published 16 hours ago, with the headline "Kansas Sends Letters To Trans People Demanding The Immediate Surrender Of Drivers Licenses". The thumbnail is a nighttime photo of a state capitol building illuminated in pink and red lights.
A day later and no major national news org has covered what they're doing in Kansas.
This is the flip side of the hyper focus on trans issues by the right. The national media ignores what's actually being done to trans people.
This erasure is what contributes to the persecution.
More in the (not) fun-with-prison-mail: Bought $2 worth of electronic "stamps." The transaction fees were $2 plus taxes of 52 cents.
A majority of the 16 U.S. states under total Democratic control now ban 287(g) partnerships with ICE. Maryland and New Mexico just joined that list, following Maine in January.
I wrote about this landscape and these new reforms in @boltsmag.org:

287g agreements with highway patrols are, I think, particularly egregious because of their ability to make a lot of traffic stops for no real reason (does highway patrol do anything other than traffic stops?)

Like with using children as bait and eating at a restaurant then kidnapping the people who prepared it, ICE is routinely breaking taboos that have been part of human civilization since before recorded history.

In 1854, after watching the federal government deploy 2000 federal troops and spend $40,000 sending Anthony Burns back into slavery, Boston's Amos Adams Lawrence said βwe went to bed one night old-fashioned, conservative, Compromise Union Whigs and waked up stark mad Abolitionists.β

This V-Day, Iβm sending love to immigrants across the country. As our communities face violence, increased criminalization, detention, and dehumanization, we choose love and solidarity by taking action. Immigrants deserve safety, dignity, and freedom. #ToImmigrantsWithLove #IStandWithImmigrants
Omg, this is beyond psychotic. The level of dehumanizing hatred you must feel towards someone to do this to children is jaw-dropping.
This is the sort of stuff that requires truth and reconciliation tribunalsβthereβs no crime here, but it demands public accountability.
By the way, for those of you not in MN: Homanβs strategy was to withdraw some agents, so it felt like we were in the denouement of the crisis, and then escalate hard against observers. Theyβre being incredibly aggressive with observers now. National media may not want to check out just yet
