Does anyone have experience overwintering baby lemon trees inside? I have questions
Huh, look at that ... investing in green tech as a niche has economic growth benefits. Who knew?
NgΔti Mutunga has opened five new houses in Urenui to help whΔnau get into home ownership and grow their family connections on tribal ground.
I just hit YES on donating 28 native trees via Trees That Count, we've sold almost 100 of these tees :3! Total trees planted by Pepper Raccoon sales has passed the 300 mark.

My first day off since the autumnal temperatures hit seems like a good day for my customary childhood breakfast. Soft-boiled eggs on toast with lashings of marmite (not vegemite!) and a hot mug of milo made entirely with milk (because any other way of making milo is a crime against nature) π

And, AND, key parts of the Old Testament (another keystone of Western civilisation) were written by Jewish communities living in exile in Babylon and were heavily influenced by ancient Sumerian and Babylonian culture.
I realise that I'm harping on a bit here, but one other thing. The European Renaissance, which is widely recognised as the inception of Western civilisation, was largely made possible by the efforts of the translation movement of Islamic scholars in places like Babylon, Alexandria & Cordoba.
....when the ancestors of the West were essentially grubbing around in the dirt and living in grass huts. And yet today the vast majority of the West looks down on the Middle East and decrys them as being backward and uncivilised. 2/2
Another bugbear when it comes to the modern day relationship between the West and the Middle East is that the Middle East is the foundation stone of what we describe as civilisation. There were cities, bureaucracy, education, etc, all the elements of civilisation there 1000s of years ago... 1/2
Also why I was so irritated when Trump said this latest war was about regime change. Because, obviously, western imposed regime change in the Middle East (& everywhere else they've done it) has always worked so well in the past.

Luxon "misspoke". Three times. With prepared notes. Said the same thing three times followed by "I don't know how I could be any clearer".
That kind of misspoke.

Another fantail torpedo
An angry fantail lifting it's leg up and singing.
Fantail singing while jumping
This fantail was flying all around us in the Εamaru Public Gardens for at least 20 minutes. Got some incredible shots of it in motion, and stopping its little angry feet!

This is the thing that frustrates me the most when one of the dogs is unwell somehow. The complete bafflement about what exactly is the problem drives me nuts. And then you have to go to a vet for them to say, "Well it could be this, or this, or maybe this. That'll be $150 please."
Anyone else getting slightly overexcited about the teaser posts on Instagram featuring Nathan Fillion and other cast members from Firefly? #browncoats
The last time the West tried regime change in Iran they installed the Shah. Remind me, how did that turn out?

Traffic issues caused by the Melling Link means being #BusDriverEd is even more stressful. Bad driving proliferates under these circumstances & I'm swearing underneath my breath more often. But every so often a little kid greets me with a beaming "Hi Mr Bus Driver!" & I hate the world a little less
