The Kingston ferry charges $18 more than a walk-on passenger to drive a car weighing over 3000 lbs onto the ferry. Someone help me make sense of this math because it seems like pedestrians pay a premium to subsidize cars using the ferries.

Just heard that the Grand Central Arcade is reopening tonight after 6 years with some new vendors.

Let's get to work!
The Seattle process is simultaneously too slow and moving too fast
You can see an affordable housing development at the north west corner of this intersection. The Aurora house is run by DESC.
Last night a speeding car crashed into the bus stop at 105th and Aurora. This is the second high speed crash in this section in the last 2 weeks.
From my neighborhood in North Seattle, it takes the same amount of time to get to Trader Joe's in Greenwood as it does the U District location thanks to the light rail even though it is twice the distance in miles (1.7 vs 3.4 miles).
What a tragedy that I5 was carved through the middle of Seattle.

Good day to be out on track.
Alternative 5 exhibit 2.4-22 map of Seattle. most of it is covered with various place type colors. The most dominant area is Corridor, which is highlighted in red
Table of acres by place type. "Corridor" was supposed to cover 17,736 acres
Pay attention in this map to the purple "Corridor" place type. Notice just how much of the city would have allowed for more dense housing with these new Corridors.
The table here shows Corridors were supposed cover 17,736(!!) acres. That could have unlocked almost the whole city for social housing!
This is the result of WSDOT'S Complete Streets directive!

What are your concerns with this tax passing as written?
I watched an older guy run out of time yesterday crossing Aurora and 105th while cars continued to make right turns in front of him, preventing him from reaching the sidewalk and bus stop.
Excellent op-ed that everyone in Seattle should read.
Nilu Jenks has officially qualified for democracy vouchers.
This is a heartbreaking failure in the WA LEG.
It would have made it easier for those harmed by negligent drivers to seek a remedy. It passed the House just HOURS after Lili Moreno was killed by a driver in Capitol Hill.
Too often, our laws protect dangerous drivers more than the people they kill.
I got a stern talking to once for doing this by a person who liked to block the sidewalk with their trash cans.
βOur girl Lilli was a multi-talented creator, an artist from the very start, whose gifts shone through in countless beautiful works" -- Loved ones are remembering Lilliana Moreno who was hit by a driver and killed a week ago as she crossed E Pine www.capitolhillseattle.com/2026/02/fami...
Does anyone have a recent example of a house being converted to a restaurant or commercial space? I'm looking specifically for repurposing or converting an existing structure, not a tear down or new construction.
but how would retirees who purchased their homes in Issaquah so that they could avoid paying taxes to Seattle visit Seattle every 5 years without this parking lot
Welp
Anyone know how to start a historic preservation board? Want to do it for Aurora and have bike lanes added for historical preservation.
Why does a business that has been open for only a year get more say over me who has been visiting pioneer square for work and leisure for the last 5 years
Sometimes you have to bring your bike onto Aurora.
Count me in as 1.

The Pioneer Square Alliance needs to be advocating for restoring historic trolley service in the neighborhood.
