My brain reminded me of this post because I started my workout right after I posted Rivet.

I train my body because:

❌ I want to look tough.

❌ Better health, strength and stamina.

✅ I might get Isekai-ed to the same reality where the spunky furry waifu lives and I need to make sure that I don't slow her down while we go fight the bad guys together.

In a world of sapient species, the best way to "fix" humans is to stop assuming they are a "default race".

Instead of +1 in stats or max feats, how about feats/stats based on stamina recovery and heat resistance.
How about advantage on social rolls with non-humans.
How about mild poison resistance.

Was thinking of getting a little guitar combo amp just for fun, but my baby-tier studio monitors just decided to (literally) blow a fuse and I already ordered an upgrade.

I threw MT Power Drum Kit, Drum Pro, and Cymbalistic in a blender, did some tactical drum compression and EQ-ing, made an empty track to simulate room microphones, and came up with "my own" drum sound.

On my old installation, Acrobat Reader left a buggy updater that kept trying to run from my disk drives even after I uninstalled it.

By the looks of it, it was trying to access a file directly through the system itself. Could be a command line/direct reference hidden in some property somewhere.

It's been a while since I've used Windows and I don't remember exactly what features are in its task scheduler.

Look into the Windows Task Scheduler. A ton of annoying shit loves to hide in there.

I don't blame the creators for not knowing this, because if you're just a normal guy using Windows, you'll probably never encounter these technicalities unless you get serious about programming and/or start messing around with other operating systems.

Of all things terrible about Windows, its worse sin was layering its own bullshit over NTFS, which led less tech-savvy creators to ignore case sensitivity in filenames.

A small handful of mods for a game I like are broken on Linux due to poor naming etiquette. Now I gotta fix them manually.
