"one of the games on this list is an "impossible" port I never, ever thought I'd see running on a real C64. My jaw is still on the floor, and I'm on my knees collecting my teeth writing it all with one hand." π

Sorry for the lack of updates on my #c64 #gamedev recently. However, this doesn't mean there is no progress. Working on an original concept means some ideas just don't work out as intended and need to be scrapped again, slowing progress somewhat...
There are various shoptypes. Some only sell ropes and/or bombs, but others also sell usefull items! Shoptypes are random, so you could have been unlucky so far...
Thanks for the nice Spelunky64 review! Do note that the shotgun, as well as the other items you mentioned, ARE included in the game! They are available to be bought in the shops :)
Found this nice site for people getting back into #C64 gaming. It even mentions 3 of my own games π

Thanks @retro-gamer.de for the nice words on #Spelunky64 π
It looks like there is a review of #Spelunky64 in the latest German edition of Retro Gamer. I need to get me a copy. π
I'd like to be on it π
A little video I put together for "Spelunky 64" on the #C64 , a great New Wave release . Check out my full review & developer interview below π

Implemented player "eye blinking idle animation". Although it only changes two pixels for a few frames, it makes all the difference! π
For my new #c64 game I'm again going for a "single-button multi-purpose" control scheme. I was quite happy with how this turned out in #Spelunky64 :)

Image of a book on a table. The book is βSpelunky,β by Derek Yu, published in 2018 by Boss Fight Books. The cover features an image of an eggplant. Very mysterious!

Happy Monday, #GameDev crew! Nestled on my bookshelf is this treasure from #Spelunky dev Derek Yu ( @mossmouth.bsky.social ), published in 2016 by Boss Fight Books ( @bossfightbooks.com ). A short thread 𧡠about why I love this book and reference it often:
So what is your favorite item in #Spelunky64 ?
Would like it if you include me as well :)
48 here :)
Decided to change from discrete to full physics movement for my new #c64 project. This makes it a lot smoother looking already π
Is this really running through an AGI interpreter? Looks great!
