George Chen, the mayor of Torrance is MAGA extremist. In a 2022 interview he praised Trump and said Trump was the kind of leader the country and the world needs.
That is disqualifying and divisive ideology like this has no place in leading our city.
This June, VOTE NO ON THE MAGA MAYOR!
This vote buys time, not solutions. The fight is now squarely on DHS and Republicans are on their back foot. Democrats have less than two weeks to press their advantage — they must hold the line and refuse to fund DHS without ironclad limits on ICE and CBP.
Abolish ICE.
There’s no reforming it.
There’s no compromise.
There’s only one way to rein in ICE’s terror campaign. Abolish it.
We cannot settle for empty reforms while ICE and CBP terrorize our communities, violate our constitutional rights, and kill innocent people. Demand that your Democratic senators hold the line and use their leverage to secure real restrictions on the regime’s secret police.

You literally voted to increase ICE funding last week.
As a secret police force terrorizes our communities, Senate Democrats can’t cave and give the GOP more time to fund the regime’s death squads.
Supervisor Holly Mitchell forced a last-minute change that overturned Metro’s own approved rail plan for the C/K Line Extension. Metro staff warned this would add $700M+, delay the project by 6+ years, and increase the risk of cancellation.
No one knows for sure what happened. There was certainly public pressure from the people who lived next to the right of way (an already active railway), but we suspect that's not the only reason. There's a good chance this kills the project completely, which may have been the real motive.

The existing rail R/W makes sense, cheaper, sooner, provide easier access to more people. Move next to or near an existing project, e.g., a refinery, a power generation plant, a rail line, one must realize there’s a chance those operations may increase
