by a totally bizarre coincidence, so did my dad, and so do my brother and and brother in law. it's almost like I'm from a region utterly dominated by fossil fuel extraction for the past 125 years......

I've lived in Oregon since 2017. I love it here, intend to stay here, and I still think it's a very strange place I barely understand. Meanwhile it seems every shithead who moves to Texas considers themselves the arbiter of what it means to be Texan within 6 months of arrival.
the slander on kolaches is bad enough but this idiot thinking Texas toast is a breakfast food nearly gave me an aneurysm
okay but also the last big battle in the movie is pretty fucking sick
Seems like there has been a huge disconnect in the amount of video of ordinance going off in various Gulf countries and the reports of casualties and damage, have no idea what to make of that
but what if they said that the persian mind is incapable of resisting the temptations of crystalline cartoon ogres, and therefore no one should fault you for a certain purchase???
I somehow did not realize until literally yesterday that Michael B. Jordan played Wallace, lmao
Whether Iranians celebrating Khamenei's death or Bahrainis and Palestinians celebrating Iranian missiles hitting Israeli and American targets, there is nobody in the Middle East who lives in a country where the people have the power.
The people want the fall of the Regime, from Tel Aviv to Tehran.
Cut em some slack they're probably just irritable because they've got doodoo bottom
I just wish all these professional military analysts who report on this in such a blase and detached manner were forced to go spend a few months working to support health clinics in Gaza or perhaps go back in time to work on Ameriyat al Fallujah food distributions ca. 2018.
there's a lot of specific overwhelming and massive crises happening at once and every single one has at its root elites who did crimes and never suffered consequences for it.
It really does feel as if our elites decided quite quickly and with little open discussion that it was time to turn the clock back to 1920 or so
You may have noticed more and more people saying this lately. Havenβt read the book and want to know why so many smart & knowledgeable people like Julian think so? Here:
No Kings...but maybe a Queen...?
my local park is full of hundreds of snow sculptures and someone has been adding museum labels
The Ford Pinto had a death rate of 85 people for 10 million cars sold. The Cybertruck hasn't sold 10 million, but the fatality rate so far maths out to 1,452 people killed per 10 million sold.
The Cybertruck may be the deadliest road car, for the occupants, ever sold.

Honestly, Iβd rather people who are overwhelmed did nothing rather than doing actively counterproductive stuff like yelling at the people who ARE doing something that itβs hopeless, itβll never be enough, why bother.
Tired: US balkanization
Wired: US Sengoku era. I serve the Whataburger Daimyo
If I know anything about John Roberts he's gutting the VRA on Tuesday
Every other country on earth is arresting their royals because they rode on Epstein's plane and meanwhile our top legal official is yelling that sex crimes are fine because the stock market is up. How much clearer do you need to be that we are no longer a civilized peer nation
Auditioning for a job in the Kotek administration
just one more round of tax/budget cuts and deregulation and appointing Republicans to offices and surely the GOP will see the error of their ways and cooperate to find pragmatic moderate common sense solutions to our pressing issues!!!!!
The left tried for decades to pass green energy subsidies, passed them, the subsidies worked, and now literally the entire planet's electricity grid is going to convert to solar+battery. It just doesn't feel like "tech" because it mostly produces kinda boring blue collar jobs instead of billionaires
Yes, the problem is the definition of "physical injury"
Idk if you can get to even assault 4 for teargas and pepper balls. Definitely Harassment though.
yeah that's the thing about nonfiction audiobooks - they are fantastic when you just want to absorb a well written narrative history over the span of a couple of weeks, absolutely terrible for referencing specific info
listening to audiobooks counts as reading. in some instances like historical nonfiction where the author will spend hours demonstrating how year-over-year falling grain yields caused a revolution to happen, it actually counts as reading with a 1.2x multiplier
Happy "I propose to move immediately upon your works" day to all who celebrate
