I felt my heart beat violently in my chest. It seemed to be on the verge of piercing through my ribcage and groveling upon the cold, hard floor. I shut my eyes and listened to Last Thoughts On Woody Guthrie. It brought me a smile.

Timing my reading sessions with an hourglass instead of my phone or an alarm clock has been so nourishing for my mind and my soul. The slow hiss of the sand falling to the bottom keeps me focused. I just read "The Old Man and the Sea" in one sitting for the umpteenth time β€οΈ
