The lower scene shows Port Lligat, his home on the Catalan coast. He claimed the image reflects “nuclear mysticism,” his attempt to unite religion and modern science after WWII. The work now sits in Kelvingrove Art Gallery in #Glasgow. In 1961, vandals damaged it; the museum restored it.

Finally had a chance to see this masterpiece by #SalvadorDali, Christ of Saint John of the Cross (1951). He got the inspiration for the crucifixion from above without nails and designed the perspective using a physics-driven approach. He used a stuntman in a harness to study the suspended body.

Thinking of adding covid as a co-author on my thesis since it’s caught me for the 4th time and has clearly been the most consistent companion in this journey

PAW and OHRBID Potluck Picnic yesterday at the Garscube campus! Lovely to have both groups together! Never manage to get a picture of the food before we attack it 😂 Luckily the rain mostly held off to we didn't have to dash back inside with all the food!

Prolactin Regulates Seasonal Changes in Renal Rheostasis in Djungarian Hamsters Abstract. Seasonal changes in photoperiod regulate multiple physiological systems in vertebrates, including metabolism, reproduction, and immune function.

Excited to share Sayantan's latest publication! The group found prolactin enhanced N-cadherin expression in the convoluted tubules and increased kidney volume. The findings show water stability is regulated by prolactin.

Edinburgh Pride, Scotland 📍
to be accepted for who you are, to #love freely, to stand in a space where no one judges your beliefs or who you love - that means everything. I’m learning to love myself and to love others better. #loveislove❣️
Happy Pride everyone. Be proud of who you are. 🌈 🫶🏻

Every sunset felt like magic, every reflection like a painting in Kilchoan. The silence, the skies, the sea—completely unforgettable. I’m still in awe. #Scotland #Nature

there was a 6.2 earthquake right off the coast of my neighbourhood in Istanbul today. I’m thousands of kilometers away from my loved ones, couldn’t reach them for hours and still shaking with anxiety and dread. guilt of being far & safe is brutal. this is one of the hardest parts of living abroad.

Carved thistles on old trees, cherry blossoms against a cold blue sky, foxes darting through parks, and cormorants resting by the river—Glasgow is full of quiet magic if you look closely ✨

Great talk by Dr. Jyoti Tiwari on how photic cues drive migration, sleep, and immunity in redheaded buntings. Her findings reveal how ALAN and noise pollution disrupt these processes, underscoring the need to preserve natural light-dark cycles. #PAWSeminar

doing a PhD: 30% research, 70% fighting invisible brain demons.

ironic how much I love my project, yet getting out of bed feels harder than climbing everest.

anyway, brains are weird. be kind — to yours and to others’.

Journal of Neuroendocrinology | BSN Journal | Wiley Online Library Extra-retinal photoreception is common across fish and avian species. In birds, the hypothalamus contains non-visual photoreceptors that detect light and regulate multiple endocrine systems. To date,....

Excited to share the latest publication from the group, which outlined how the bird brain detects light and the links to seasonal control of reproduction.
