Haha, I can't help thinking there should have been a tag in that fish! π
Yet to find those compelling reads in the supermarket book swap bins (as I'm unable to justify parting with any cash for either book or an Amazon DVD). π€
They've only kicked the issue into the not so long grass!
Absolutely, and my Cycling Proficiency has to be worth 50p on a good day!
Marine heatwaves (MHWs) are periods of unusually warm sea temperatures, recognised as one of the fastest emerging climate-related drivers of change in the ocean.

Reasonably well-behaved critters of Bridlington Bay No Take Zone, including velvet swimming crabs π¦, dabs and plaice π, and a lesser spotted dogfish π¦ all making appearances for day 5 of #Crustmas and #25DaysOfFishmas. πππ¦
Residents of an inshore Bridlington Bay shipwreck attend the BRUV for day 4 of #25DaysOfFishmas. A shoal of pouting investigate the bait cage, while tucked away in a triangular hole top left is a rarely filmed visitor in these waters - a shy conger eel awakes and surveys the melee outside! ππ§π π¦
Yikes! π±
Brown crabs not exactly getting in to the sharing spirit of #Crustmas with their friends on day three. Somebody could be heading towards the naughty list! π¦πππ¦
Here's a smaller one with a similar approach, but one of the velvets here isn't intimidated and the lobster backs off - but I suppose you would think twice about confronting a velvet!
Interestingly I have at least another two examples of this lobster approach, scattering any onsite crabs in the chaos. I wonder whether it's a strategy they use to avoid them, when they'd be otherwise nervous?
Less than subtle menu enquiry from a venerable Bridlington Bay lobster, a ponder and ultimate rejection in favour of alternative fare from possibly a less 'metallic' dispensary. π¦ #crustmas
Around sixteen hungry green crabs attracted to a Baited Remote Underwater Video camera trap, placed on rippled sand in the shallow water No Take Zone inside Bridlington Bay, Yorkshire.
Here's a few green crabs happily tasting the menu at a BRUV located in Bridlington Bay No Take Zone off the Yorkshire coast. #Crustmas
AI is now capable of designing a record-breaking deep sea submersible on its own. This marks a new age of exploration and I encourage all my fellow AI champions to build one and get in it so they can celebrate this achievement from the bottom of the sea.
Wondering whether this small UK spider I observed subduing a wasp can be identified? No obvious web could be seen on the rose, but it seemed quite adept at avoiding the sharp end!
BREAKING NEWS: Garage blue tit cam reveals hatchlings this week! π£π£π£ π
Camera view inside a box for Blue Tits, showing a bed of white feathers, and what could be two eggs in the very centre.
Just thought I'd catch up with the Blue Tit box this morning, as there's been quite a bit of nest building activity recently. I was surprised to see what might be a couple of eggs below feathers in the centre, and if so it would be about a week and a half earlier than last year. π£π£
A simple pinhole camera picked out the partial eclipse today, while sat in the greenhouse with a cuppa.
Ooo, think I got it there! π
Parallel surf shot highlighting a lightly breaking surf and dark stripes against the wet sand.
Some items of jet found among the dark stripes on the beach.
Lovely to return the boat in some spring sunshine, ready for the new season. Hardly any breeze too, so sent a drone up for a few shots before heading home.
There's Yorkshire stripes from above the surf, the dark ones containing Jet on this tide.

Ah well done, that's a nice shot too and one of my favourites. I was bitten by one of these in WA, but that wasn't a pretty sight! π¬

A three-faced four-eyed gargoyle perched on a 12th century church buttress, it was something the local clergy hadn't noticed from the ground!

Lovely shot to repay the risk.
Following a very dicey experience with a Red Kite a couple of years ago I'm now a little bit twitchy, and despite careful checking they somehow they persist in arriving from nowhere to regularly exercise my nerves! π¬
