Thatβs a wrap! This new cafe owner took home a copy of Cafe Baras after creating his first cafe and bringing in 75 points for the win!
Pick up a copy of this lovely game by @kidstablebg.bsky.social at your LFGS or a Barnes and Noble near you!

Out here at the Homestead, PA Barnes & Noble until 4pm, showing off Cafe Baras by @kidstablebg.bsky.social ! Barnes and Noble did a great job adding some flair with some extra Cappy Decor (stuffies not included, sorry!)
Shin Musha Gundam
Nice! I just finished up a build that my wife started awhile ago of this big boi. Have not decided if I should use the decals yet or not, it's quite shiny already! What MG are you starting with?
I walk away from the board game scene for a year, and I find one of my fave creators got into Gunpla! Looks great, there! RG's remain one of my favorite sizes, though I still say that friends don't let friends do Astrays... ;-)
There are already too many raccoons lost on our roads. Please do not engage with Eize whatsoever.
In the end, I donβt think any advice for or against keeping players engaged/entertained is one size fits all. Two designers, creating a similar game but toward two different audiences, must craft their pieces to appeal accordingly.
IMO, lazy design sees a mechanism that randomly punishes players or leaves them with nothing to do, and does not critically examine whether it is thematically relevant, or simply something obstructive or sadistic.
Certainly, what I meant was as long as I can learn how to not paint myself into a bad corner in the future, there game holds promise of improving my skill. Meanwhile, educating people on the topics of your games seems to require creating an unease that matches the context.
Define βbad turn,β perhaps?
If I learn something from mistakes that led to me having a bad turn: cool.
If the game is up front that players are going to have a rough time, then ok.
Resigning players to never getting to play the game is a great way to discourage replays, IMO. See: Catan.
(FWIW, I'm trying to outline them for a friend who has an interest in building a business around BG manufacture in the US. TOTALLY get it if you don't have time with the upcoming campaign to get into this but maybe another follower has time and a link?)
I remember the posts going off back when the tariffs were announced, but I am wondering if you know of anyone who compiled a comprehensive guide to these challenges? I can find critiques so far, but nothing outlining the hard costs of setting up manu here. TIA, and GL with the new RtDT campaign!!!
Oh, I didnβt expect to feel feels even getting to meet Brian Colin, the designer of Rampage, Spy Hunter and Discs of Tron. I saw him at the beginning of the con, didnβt get to check in later to see, but I hope he was well loved and appreciated over the course of the weekend.
The guests were all fantastic! DC Douglas was hilarious at his table, too.
Tbf, I brought my own copy, didnβt even think to make it an announced event because, well, life has been complicated recently. Hopefully you had a great time with the Arcade Pit however!
I am now into month 15 of being unemployed.
My wife just lost her job due to budget cuts last week.
Iβm still looking for gainful work in web dev, but Iβm also great at proofreading, or, could help with code reviews.
In the meantime, sheβs got a GoFundMe. gofund.me/d6009243d
Mass Effect Priority: Hagalaz set up on the table and ready for action!
Over the weekend, at Pittsburgh Gaming Expo, I also got to teach a few people the basics of Mass Effect Priority: Hagalaz. I think I gave people a nice boost to get their own copy to the table, and I had several people stop by to look who had never seen it. @ithayla.bsky.social
Sent a few more new players your way, @restorationgames.bsky.social , this weekend! Good luck on the upcoming campaign for Return to Dark Tower!
Players making the some strategic plans in Return to Dark Tower. Relic Hunter doing their thing and collecting All the Things by the second month. Spymaster zipping around. Brutal Warlord gathering the mass legions.
Another angle on Return to Dark Tower, as players contemplate their next steps.
Teaching some people about @restorationgames.bsky.social Return to Dark Tower at this weekendβs local gaming convention, Pittsburgh Gaming Expo!
(Not a paid demo, I just love the game enough I want the next KS to go gangbusters!)
Aww, missed ya, then! Alright, be safe wherever you are!
@br00taldan.bsky.social hey there, long time no see! Might you have any suggestions for the best book store or hobby store in the Orlando area? Weβre down here until Friday!
There are two there that Iβve never seen, but holy cow, I havenβt heard anyone refer to Young Sherlock Holmes, a firmly under rated movie, imo!
That word is high on my list of words to avoid, both in spelling and in real life use.
It seems that roast was served in your household today.
Though my favorite IP is probably Shadowjog.

Strangely, while I read most of Pern up to ATWoP, almost all the Ship Who Sang series, and the Sassinak series with Elizabeth Moon, I never got into Crystal Singer, not sure why.
Very few of us are "simple" humans; while I was too young to get the nuances of the homosexual takes in her books, I was more impressed with her strong(er) femme protagonists, though I was also unaware at the time how unusual that was at the time her books were published.
She definitely carved her own path, but itβs one I feel modern writers tread with no thought to her work.
But shouldnβt we be discussing that instead of just burying it? GRRM gets away with far worse, but he obviously has gotten a pass.
