Teddie's letter in full:
Like thousands of Nova Scotians this week, Grade 11 student Teddie Rofe took to the streets to stand up for something dear to her heart: her bus pass.

It does, however, need to be moved by a councillor and passed by vote to be added to the budget.
If the program is discontinued, the municipality would save $600,000 (their contribution from the $1.8 million cost) and estimates another $900,000 in revenue.
From @hfxgov.bsky.social's briefing note on the student transit pass program:
"Although continuing the program is extremely beneficial, to do so at full cost by the municipality adds unexpected financial pressure on the municipality and is not recommended."

That’s what I expect as well but we’ll see how they navigate it as I could see MLS clubs not wanting to participate in it yet.
