Since consciousness is (still) the current hot topic, I'm just wondering if anyone here has heard of Integrated Information Theory (IIT)?

"yeah, I work in this field and I can say AI is xyz" -- Jr. Web Dev
Can we see your research?
You know "AI" could mean a lot of things, right?
Oh, no, but carbon is special.
omfg, did you read anything they wrote?
"you would know what consciousness is if you had read anything on philosophy of mind" (first: lol; second, I did, and that's why I know I don't know)
"these tech bros should know there is a reason it is called the hard problem of consciousness" (that is precisely his argument)
The worst arguments in those replies:
"ofc we don't know what consciousness is, but Claude certainly doesn't have it"
"ofc Claude isn't conscious; it doesn't have a body" (why would it be necessary? btw, it has one/many)
"YOU need to prove Claude is conscious" (he never argued it was)
No such thing is said anywhere in the post.
Tons of replies. Zero answers.
I did not realize that emulation was this far ahead. The previous iteration was able to do very simple behavior like extending and retraction a tongue based on smell, but now they have an uploaded fly brain capable of controlling a simulated fly. Won't be too long until lobsters at this rate
Who in CS, besides Blake Lemoine, says this?

Asked Claude Code to convert one of my old lectures about binary file manipulation in C into my new HTML+CSS+JS interactive slides format, and it created a hex editor in one of the slides. π

OmniExtreme from BIGAI: a general-purpose tracking policy which works with extreme motions and complex contacts. Works by pre-training a general-purpose flow policy, then learning an actuation-aware residual policy for handling complex physical dynamics.
Yes, it is hard for me. A psychologist should be more knowledgeable about this possibility.
I'm only responsible for what I say, not for what you understand.
"Unlike _those_ professions, who are basically ditch-diggers, _my_ profession requires an unparalleled level of intellectual sophistication and subtlety" is something we're going to hear more and more, until we hear it less and less, replaced with "Well I always _said_ it would be a valuable tool.."

Still got my principles.
Omg, this is so dumb. I feel real physical pain reading this.
I find it funny when a field of knowledge needs to create an "evidence-based" branch, implying that everything else was pulled out from their asses. π€£
The model controlling the car has fewer than 1k params and gazes at a single point in each frame.
I retract my comment. It just told me that as x goes to 0, softplus goes to 0.
Gemini 3.1 is what I expected from Gemini 3.0. Much better for math and science so far.
