Jake asked my why I love doing these things when people exhaust me so much and then answered his own question: "OH. Because your love language is words of affirmation!" And, yeah. It is. I get such a high from seeing people love my work. Making money is second best.

A photo of the Kilauea eruption
I had the incredible good luck to see the Kilauea eruption a few days before Christmas. Woke up randomly at 1 am to find that the fog had lifted and we had a clear view of fountains up to 1400 feet right out our hotel window. An AMAZING experience.

2025 certainly was a lot of year in a year. I only published four books, but I wrote 5. I did more art than I have in a while, and ran two Kickstarters and did 13 in-person shows. I feel pretty good about my successes, learned from my failures, and am glad for my health and family.

A small drab mushroom growing out of concrete, with the corner of a truck mirror, because it's also the middle of an intersection.
Most of my mushroom photos are in the woods, where mushrooms can grow on rotting logs and drink swamp water.
Not this guy.
This mushroom is made of grit and f*ck you, living his best life in a busy intersection, sucking nutrients out of gravel and cigarette butts.
I salute you, mushroom.
