There is a huge Spanish media push to frame democrats as communists. It has been so since the Bay of Pigs (I am not joking). While the 80s wave of immigrants saw Reagan as a savior, the 60s wave hated that: all Castro's dark skinned criminals coming to their nice town. And... here we are.
