This requires a longer bit of writing to really explore, but in our society we talk about “the dignity of work”, and that’s a mistake. People, I think, don’t emotionally crave *work*, they crave to *make*. To make a change in the working some individually pleasing way, physical, emotional, social.

Yeah, most of the tv she’s watched so far has been either reality tv (very specific formula in each episode) or 22-minute sitcoms aimed at kids which do not really require or reward patience with letting stuff play out, so we’re really pleased to have hit on something she likes that’s more complex!
Just showed the kiddo Leverage for the first time and really appreciating how clearly it lays out stakes and story beats so our ten-year-old can actually follow a whole tv episode without asking us seven thousand times what’s going on.
Plus, capitalism is the bad guy, so important life lessons.
