I think these from an "ordinary" voters point of view. In USA the outside matters so much. The president has to be funny, good looking (or at least have a pretty wife!) etc..

I haven't noticed great amount of fasistic thoughts or opinions that Newsom had. A sense of humor is to some extend needed so that a person has kind of "karisma" which makes also the opposite side to tolerate you.
I have followed Newsom for some time and he seems like a pretty decent guy to me. He has sense of humor, which Warren doesn't..
